14.11.2023 – Can a robot be used as a partner to humans in the operating room or are there limits? Julian Klodmann, Scientific Director of the DLR-MIRO Innovation Lab (Institute of Robotics and Mechatronics) together with Prof. Dr. Dirk Wilhelm (Clinical Director of the Research Group for Minimally Invasive Interdisciplinary Therapeutic Intervention (MITI) at the Technical University of Munich) and Dr. Andreas Keibel (Business Development Manager Medical Robotics at KUKA Deutschland GmbH) will discuss this interesting question in the MEDICA DEEP DIVE “Robots in the OR: flexible, precise, tireless”.

The MEDICA DEEP DIVE format presented current use cases and innovations even before the MEDICA started. In 45-minute panel discussions, experts from the medical technology industry, research and development exchanged views with users from the healthcare system. Here, the potential that digitalization opens up in the healthcare sector becomes clear in detail. This ranges from artificial intelligence and big data to networking, smart hospitals and robotics.

From November 13 to November 16, the world’s leading medical trade fair MEDICA will take place in Düsseldorf with more than 5,300 exhibiting companies from almost 70 nations. This year, the focus is primarily on digitalization in medicine (technology) in the context of increasing “ambulantization” and the networking of clinics with each other.
