Currently we are all affected by a global pandemic. For this reason, the DIH-HERO consortium decided to open a short additional call to support robotic technologies that got the potential to be used in the fight against COVID-19.

Despite the very short duration the call was successfully closed on the 17th of April with all in all 146 proposals submitted. The number of applications submitted included numerous innovative ideas and projects, that made it not easy to choose the companies that received a funding. Eventually the decisive factor was which application could fulfill all the criteria of the call the best: robotic technologies in the later stages of development that can be deployed in the healthcare sector to support healthcare professionals by satisfying a current clinical demand or need.
